                                                     FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is The Promise?    The Promise is the name our family has always used in relation to my vision and the words and leadings of God for funding and construction of the Chandler Christian Center project.   But The PromiseSM is more than one individual’s call of God.  It is the fulfillment of God’s specific promise made to each and every believer.  It is mustard seed faith nurtured by God until we know with certainty that the impossible is possible because God has no limits.  It is believing in the unbelievable.  It is being willing to risk everything for the call on your life.

What is Spirit-Led Ministries?  Spirit-Led Ministries is the development company formed to develop the Chandler Christian Center project, and includes a speaking ministry and workshops relating to The PromiseSM.

Why does "The Promise" have a service mark?  The PromiseSM is the name associated with the educational portion of Spirit-Led Ministries and includes workshops, teaching materials and related classes.

What will be the focus of the Chandler Christian Center?    In keeping with our mission statement, and with God’s direction and guidance, the overall design of the Center and the services provided will be designed to promote Christian growth and development and will be aimed toward the more mature Christian, Christian lay leaders, and others who desire more in-depth biblical knowledge, a deeper walk with our Lord, and praise and worship opportunities with other Christians outside of the traditional seeker-sensitive environment.  I believe that God is calling His people to gather closer to Him, to increase in wisdom and knowledge,  to learn of the end time events to come and to begin preparing themselves and future generations for the second coming of Christ.

What is your background for The Promise?  How has God been preparing you?  It’s been a long road with a long journey still ahead, but I can look back at any point and see that God has been positioning me all along the way.  I worked predominantly as a litigation/corporate paralegal, and then about 16 years ago I took a similar position with a two attorney law firm.  The senior attorney as it later turned out, had a desire to build and manage shopping centers.  During the time that I was there I was exposed to project development, construction, and property management.   After seven years I felt God was releasing me from that position but I didn’t know where to go as at that time the significance of my exposure to some project development and property management held no significance for me as God had not yet revealed to me the purpose of the ministry, only that He would provide the money for a then unknown ministry.   So I went looking for another corporate/litigation paralegal position.  But God had other plans.  My husband “accidentally” faxed my resume to a company that wasn’t on my list.  Five interviews and numerous tests later I took a position as an administrative assistant that was represented to me as being predominantly secretarial for a man who owned several auto dealerships, and pretty much working 8-5.  I thought a nice no-stress position would be a wonderful change, but again God had other plans for me.  Nine years later I am responsible for corporate maintenance and corporate compliance for 65 companies, oversee city, state and franchise licensing matters and compliance for approximately 55 franchised automotive dealerships, assist with real estate acquisitions, reviewing surveys and title work in connection with final escrow closings for the land acquisitions for construction of the various dealerships as well as office buildings, auto malls and other major development projects.  I work with millions of dollars every day dealing with tax planning,  development, construction and accounting matters.  When people ask me what I do, the easiest description is that I play real-life Monopoly, buying and selling real estate, constructing improvements, managing the properties (and a myriad of other holdings as well).  That God would position me in a company where I would be exposed to developing multi-million dollar projects at all levels is simply mind-boggling.   Do I have the experience to spearhead the development of a multi-million dollar project for God?  No, not by myself.  But God has positioned me over the last nine years to develop the necessary business relationships and to work with some of the top people in all areas of real estate development and management.   The most important thing is not having all the answers, it’s knowing what questions to ask.   God’s plan has been revealed slowly over time and He has given me the experiences and placed me where I need to be to accomplish His purposes.  If we stay focused on God, He will provide guidance and direction for the project and bring together His people for His plans and purposes, just as He has been doing all along.

Tell me more about your vision and where you are going with it.   The vision had three parts (1) that my daughter would go through severe trials,  (2) that she would return to God and reaffirm her beliefs (indicating that she would totally turn away from God at some point), and (3) that approximately 15 years into the future I would have a speaking ministry, traveling and speaking before large groups.  The first two parts of the vision have been fulfilled and I am stepping out in faith as to the third part by working on development of The PromiseSM  materials, and developing a public speaking ministry.  The focus will be on nurturing your own personal promise, living a faith based life, and believing with all your heart that nothing is impossible with God.

Do you have books or publications available for sale?  No, not at this time.  Even as a child I always felt that I would write a book some day and in my college years I did attempt a manuscript but never completed it.  I believe that down the road, after the fulfillment of The Promise, I will write a book about my personal promise and all that God did in bringing the Chandler Christian Center into existence.    I have a sense that I will  also write a three book series on faith-based living.

Can I make a donation or tithe to your ministry?  Can I offer my time?  No, we do not take donations.  Part of The Promise is the supernatural provision by God of the funds that will be needed to accomplish His plan and purpose.   We are, however, continually prayerful that until that provision is made, God will continue to move people to volunteer the services that we need.   If God draws you into The Promise and has blessed you with talents, skills, abilities, and insights that would be beneficial to our calling, please contact lcortright@spirit-ledministries.com.

Do you have a prayer team?   Absolutely!  We are always in need of strong prayer warriors and currently need someone to oversee, organize, and grow our prayer team.  A calling of this type requires a strong prayer covering.

Your cross is beautiful.  Where did you get your logo design?  Our logo design is used by permission of holdingcrosses.com.  God has been with us through every step, including obtaining our logo design.  I had asked my daughter to do some drawings for a possible logo – something with a cross and a dove that would symbolize The Promise.  Being a Generation X child she instead went to the internet and began searching for ideas.  She was just about to give up when she found holdingcrosses.com .    There were pages and pages of wooden crosses and being tired she finally thought “Well, I’ll just give it one more try”, and randomly clicked on a page well into the website.  There was the cross and dove design and it was called The Promise cross!  Wow!  God blew our socks off once again!  Holdingcrosses.com has page after page of beautiful hand crafted wooden crosses in many beautiful types of woods from all over the world including the original holding cross and their testimony of how their ministry o f making holding crosses and other wooden crosses came to be.  I would encourage you to visit their website.   We have purchased several as a symbol of what The Promise is to our ministry and their products are beautiful.   Whenever I look at the cross, it instills within me the certainty of the calling God has placed upon my life.

                                                                                                   PRAYER SUPPORT

Prayer Support.  We greatly appreciate your prayers for the fulfillment of The Promise and ask specifically that you would pray for the following:

   1.   That our eyes, ears and hearts would be open and receptive to the will of God.

   2.   For a hedge of protection around the ministry and all who are involved in it.

   3.   For strengthening our armor which we put on daily (Ephesians 6:10) that we might withstand
the arrows of the enemy.

   4.   For a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon each person involved in the ministry.

   5.   For the breaking of generational curses and closing of any doors that would allow the enemy to hold back or distort God's plans and purposes for The Promise.

   6.   For the raising up of my family, my children and my children's children to step into the fulness of the calling on their lives and the oversight and success of the Chandler Christian Center by future generations.

    7.  That the territory God has given to me, and the foundations for the Chandler Christian Center project will be released from the powers and principalities that have had control over the land; for angels of war to come forth and do battle against the enemy for the taking of the land as a stronghold for God; and for the territory to be marked not only as a stronghold for God but a place of peace, prosperity, and the raising up of saints to go forth into all the world in their assigned areas and according to the tasks and purposes for which God calls them.

    8.  For the raising up of intercessory prayer warriors to come forward and pray for the project, the taking of the territory, the ministry, and the fulfillment of God's plans and purposes.

    9.  For the fulfillment of The Promise.
